The Hauntening - Preview

October 11, 2017 - October 18, 2017 | BBC Radio 4

Travel through the bad gateway of technology in the new electrifying Radio 4 comedy series The Hauntening, as writer and performer Tom Neenan discovers what horrors may lurk in our apps and gadgets…

Ever wondered about the complexities of everyday technology? How a cheese cracker-sized piece of metal can tell you how far away you are from your own mum to within a decimal point? Algorithms that somehow claim to find you the perfect romance? A device that tells you who to be friends with and what to buy?

Experts say that with new technology comes a host of modern anxieties, especially in a world where new apps and gadgets are being thrust upon us each day, Tom Neenan brings a humorous twist on what horrors may really lurk within our beloved devices, so much so that The Hauntening will leave you questioning that notification on Bumble…

Previously known as one half of the critically acclaimed “Gentlemen of Leisure” with Nish Kumar, Tom Neenan’s solo comedy is famed for its inspired characters and fast paced, evocative storytelling. He has written for Cartoon Network’s The Amazing World of Gumball and BBC Radio 4’s Spotlight Tonight, The News Quiz, The Now Show and BBC Two’s Mock The Week and The Mash Report.

Written by Tom Neenan and directed by David Tyler, The Hauntening is a two-part radio series of modern ghost stories that is set to air on BBC Radio 4 on 11th and 18th October 2017 at 11.15pm.
