Little Shop of Horrors

“On the twenty-first day of the month of September, in an early year of a decade not too long before our own, the human race suddenly encountered a deadly threat to its very existence…”

Following their multi-award winning production of “Into The Woods” and their recent win at the Norfolk Arts Awards, Sound Ideas will be staging Little Shop of Horrors on December 12th-16th at Norwich Playhouse.

The latest exciting and electric production from the ambitious Norfolk-based theatre company, Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of well-meaning florist Seymour Krelborn and his wisecracking plant, Audrey II. Seymour delights in the attention his leafy friend attracts, but when Audrey II develops a carnivorous craving for human flesh, the situation begins to spin out of control!

Featuring dazzling puppetry direct from the recent UK tour and a sparkling score from the legendary Alan Menken (best known for his numerous Walt Disney film scores), Little Shop of Horrors is one of the longest running off-Broadway shows, as well as being one of the most popular cult films of all time.

Formed in 2013 as part of the Norwich Fringe Festival when five theatre nuts with an obsession for obscure theatre crowded around a piano in their friend’s garage, talented company Sound Ideas has grown from successful bar shows to critically acclaimed and award-winning full-scale productions, including staging the oddball toilet-themed hit Broadway cult musical “Urinetown”, an immersive production of “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” and most recently “Ushers: The Front of House Musical“.

Little Shop of Horrors will be playing at Norwich Playhouse at 7.30pm every night from December 12th to 16th, plus an additional matinee performance at 2.30pm on December 16th.
