Swing Your Tartan Pants

The Double-Award Winning Gorleston Theatre Company are busy putting the final touches to their upcoming musical revue with a Scottish flavour, entitled Swing Your Tartan Pants.

A celebration of Scotland for Burns Night, the show features many sing-a-long songs led by the company – including classics like “The Bonny Banks of Loch Lochmond”, a Country and Western Gretna Green number, and popular songs by the Bay City Rollers. The show also features a whole host of dancing – from traditional Scottish country dancing to ballet, tap – together with readings and comedy sketches.

A spokesman for the company said: “There’s something for everyone in this show, a real variety. We wanted something different after the Panto season. It’s been a hearty team effort, and all have worked hard – but thoroughly enjoyed creating a party atmosphere which promises to have the audience singing, tapping their toes and laughing, not to mention ‘swinging their tartan’!”

Directed by Jeannie Kinkaid and Terry Wing, Swing Your Tartan Pants is choreographed by Natasha Bird, Charlotte Green, Louise Archer and Cath Cook. The Musical Director is Richard Ward.

Swing Your Tartan Pants will be performed at The Pavilion Theatre, Gorleston on Friday 25th January and Saturday 26th January. For tickets, visit www.gorlestonpavilion.co.uk.
