Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

It’s time to bring the magic of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry home with the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – the second of five all new adventures set in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World – on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and DVD on March 18th, courtesy of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

At the end of the first film in the series, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp – the Pirates of the Carribean series) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne – The Theory of Everything). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald has escaped custody and is gathering followers, with most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law – the Sherlock Holmes series) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world…

Directed by David Yates (the Harry Potter series), from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald features an ensemble cast, including Katherine Waterston (Alien: Covenant), Dan Fogler (The Walking Dead), Alison Sudol (Transparent), Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Zoë Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road), Callum Turner (Green Room), Claudia Kim (Avengers: Age of Ultron), William Nadylam (Kirikou and the Sorceress), Kevin Guthrie (Sunshine on Leith), Carmen Ejogo (It Comes at Night) and Poppy Corby-Tuech (Harlots).

The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray include an extended cut of the film with more than seven minutes of deleted scenes added, available as a bonus disc. Also featured is an audio introduction by director David Yates and over an hour of fantastic special features, including “J.K. Rowling: A World Revealed”, “Wizards on Screen, Fans in Real Life” and “Distinctly Dumbledore”.

The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc will feature Dolby Vision HDR that dramatically expands the colour palette and contrast range and uses dynamic metadata to automatically optimise the picture for every screen, frame by frame, as well as a Dolby Atmos® soundtrack remixed specifically for a Dolby Atmos-enabled home theatre environment.
